Accountancy & Finance - Vacancy Details JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Management Accountant LOCATION: Hitchin, Hertfordshire DEPARTMENT: Finance & Business Services REPORTING TO: Director of Finance & Business Services Background: England Netball is the £5million turnover national governing body for the sport. It has 40 full and part-time employees based around the country with another 200 coaches, umpires etc. on zero hours equating to approximately 55-60 full time equivalents. Netball is enjoying unprecedented visibility and growth, thanks to the success of the Netball Superleague and other competitions, as well as the work that the Association is conducting at grass roots level and with further developments in the pipeline this is an exciting time to be joining the Company. Job Summary: Take responsibility for management accounts, budget variance analysis and preparation of the first draft of the management accounting reports including preparation of information for department managers, assistance in the production of monthly forecasts and assistance in the annual preparation of budgets. Working alongside the Finance and Office Co-ordinator (who is responsible for maintaining the prime books of account including sales and purchase ledgers and cashier functions.) Main Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare monthly Management Accounts and supplementary reports for each Department Head and for the Board. Assist the processing of the monthly staff payroll including journal posting via import and update sage on a regular month basis. Prepare quarterly VAT Returns. Manage the balance sheet journal entries, reconcile and control these accounts on an ongoing basis, particularly accruals and prepayments. Maintain fixed asset and licence ledgers and records. Prepare and post monthly depreciation journals. Prepare the year-end audit files and support including the lead schedules for the auditors. Responsible for managing the expenses policy. Assist the Finance Director as required and undertake such duties as maybe required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the Company. Desirable Attributes: Demonstrable experience of using MS Excel to manipulate and produce management accounts reports. Experience of Sage Line 50 would be extremely useful.
